Step 1 - Design & Proposal

The process starts by discussing your aspirations for the project - this might be driving down energy bills, improving energy security, or reducing reliance on fossil fuels. A plan will be created for the location of equipment, and information gathered such as your last 12 months' electricity usage. You will be provided with a comprehensive proposal with itemised costing, equipment warranties, estimated return on investment (ROI), environmental analysis, and much more.

Step 2 - Distribution Network Operator (DNO) approval

A G98 or G99 application will be submitted to your DNO with details of the proposed system. Responses can be as quick as a few days but may take several weeks to be processed whilst checks on the supply network are made. Typical outcomes are either that work can proceed without any restrictions, or work can proceed with some restrictions in place e.g. a limitation on how much power can be exported back to the grid.

Step 3 - Final design & deposit

If any restrictions have been imposed by the DNO, these will be discussed with you and updated accordingly on the proposal. If you are happy to proceed, a contract will be sent out, work start date agreed, and a 25% deposit taken. For your peace of mind, deposits are insured by the IWA who also provide the 6-year guarantee on the installation once completed.

Step 4 - Installation & comissioning

Your system will be professionally installed with the utmost care and attention to detail - it's important to us that it looks great as well as operating safely. We follow industry regulations and manufacturers' instructions to the letter so that you can have total trust in the quality of your installation. In the unlikely event that there has to be a change to the design due to unforeseen circumstances, this will be clearly discussed and a variation of contract completed.

Step 5 - Handover

You will be walked around the work area and guided through how your system operates, including the start-up and shut-down procedure. You'll receive full documentation including:

Electrical Installation Certificate and Building Control Notification
MCS certification and DNO approval used for gaining export payments
A comprehensive handover pack detailing information of the installed equipment with relevant manuals and warranties
